The Great Opportunity Approach

This is an approach followed by some people in their lives and work. They may see a situation as a great opportunity to follow certain guidelines and do their best to do great work.

Different people follow this approach in different ways. Let’s explore how they may translate it into action.

Great Opportunity

Some people see certain situations as a great opportunity. They focus on the positive options in the situation rather than just on the obstacles. They then aim to perform outstanding work.

Some athletes in sports, for example, look forward to potentially challenging events. They see the event as an opportunity to do their best and to flow rather than fear.

Some people may even reframe challenging situations as an opportunity. One person who had an illness, for example, saw it as a chance to refocus on the important things in life. They then kept focusing on those things after their recovery.

Looking at my own work, I have had the opportunity to encourage many people. Whether working with individuals or organisations, these provided the chance to pass on knowledge. People could then take the best and leave the rest.

Let’s return to your own life. Looking ahead, can you think of a situation that you can frame as a great opportunity? What may the situation give you the chance to do?
