The Personable, Professional And Pompous Approaches

There are many ways to live life. There may be occasions when some people choose to follow either the personal, professional or pompous approaches.

The route that they follow can affect both themselves and other people. Let’s explore these themes.

The Personable Approach

Some people behave in a positive and personable way. They are warm, welcoming and show a genuine interest in other people. They behave in a pleasant way that helps to put other people at ease.

Some famous people have this approach. They may recognise that they are ordinary people who may have an extraordinary talent. They are enjoyable to be with and behave in an encouraging way towards other people.

The Professional Approach

Some people are positive and, when appropriate, behave in professional way. They may do this when being a counsellor, medic, trusted advisor or in another professional role.

Such people often have a strong service ethic. They aim to make the other person feel the centre of their world. They then use their abilities to help that person to achieve their goals.

The Pompous Approach

Some people behave in a pompous way. They seem to feel superior to others and make the situation all about them. Some have a sense of entitlement and focus only on their own agenda.

Such people want others to show deference. They are addicted to status and may even award themselves prizes. They surround themselves with admirers and show little interest in other people.

Let’s return to your own life and work. Looking ahead, can you think of a situation where you may want to follow elements of the personable or professional approach?
